“If an opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door”

                                                                                                         Milton Berle

Students at HCC learn  how to build doors for technology and how to walk through them to commercial success, how to get technology out of laboratory and into practice. In the fall of 2007, 32 students have participated in the TAP program. Students become a bridge between the scientists and the business community and translate the possibilities into realized opportunities.

During the biannual Entrepreneurial Celebration Event, students from the TAP Program present their assessment and ideas to the entire HCC and the Howard County community at large.  More than 150 community members, faculty, students, and parents are usually present at these wide college presentations/competitions.  In May 9, 2007, teams were recognized by the college and the business community for their intellectual and creative achievement. A plaque with all the winners’ names can be seen on TAP Program’s board in ELB on the third floor.

Want to develop business skills within an existing organization or begin a new business? Anxious to see your name memorialized on the walls of HCC?  Be involved in the rapidly changing field of technology!  Enroll in ENTR-215 in the Spring of 2008.

Think of three items that you use everyday. How different would your life be if the inventors of these items had not shared their inventions with the rest of the world? Remember that the technology is out there - only you can make your ideas come true. Make a difference in the world!
