What Has Da Vinci Never Done? |
|
People who have original ideas that can be patented and eventually reach the marketplace are performing an important service and will have rights to their intellectual property. Had Leonardo Da Vinci the services of the Technology Transfer Program, he might have been as famous today as the inventor of the airplane and automobile as he is for painting the Mona Lisa. Indeed, the famous Italian Renaissance artist and scientist displayed great ingenuity in conceiving flying machines and self-propelled vehicles in many of his drawings, but because he never worked out the method of putting his ideas into practice and then patenting his devices, he never got the credit he deserved for all of his inventions.

Where Would We Be Without New Technology? Margaux Wakefield, BMGT-145 Spring 2006 Today’s generation has everything at its fingertips. We have cell phones that are one-stop communication tools. We can call people, check e-mail, text message, and go on the Internet all with one small device. Now cell phones are small and thin and can fit right into your pocket or clip on your pants and go with you. We have computers that help us surf the web quickly and have software programs to create great advertisements. What would advertising be like without a computer and the great software we have today? We would be drawing things by hand and taking a much longer time to create one ad. We can be thankful for the technology we have at our finger tips today, since it makes life a lot more fruitful! |
